Adjust 2D Sprite pivot point without ruining animation

I know how to change the pivot point in the Spite Editor, but I've come to an animation that has informed me that I made a mistake with the character's head's pivot point. I can't change the pivot in the sprite editor without breaking the animations I've already made. Is there a way to do this without this problem?,I have a character I've rigged in Unity and have already created several animations. I am making an animation that has revealed that I forgot to adjust the pivot point of the character's head to the bottom, where the neck would connect. I know how to adjust pivot points in the Sprite Editor, BUT if I do that, the head's sprite moves up and leaves the face where it was, and it breaks the whole setup. Is there a way to change the pivot point of the sprite without destroying the positions of its children? Unparenting the children, altering the pivot, then re-parenting doesn't seem to do the trick very well, either...
